Come sip from the cup of destruction with the founder of the Mongol Empire and the largest contigous empire in history (roughly the size of Africa). His conquests are known for their wholesale destruction and great decline in populations which he single handedly corrected (probably). He conquered his enemies, embraced freedom of religion, outlawed slavery, established a meritocracy and free trade along the silk road; he even created one of the first postal systems.
At his death in 1227, he is quoted as saying "I have conquered for you a large empire. But my life was too short to take the whole world. That I leave to you."
